A series of screenings celebrating the work of John Berger.

About Time: Once Upon a Time with John Berger (1985)
A film devised and directed by Mike Dibb and Chris Rawlence in which Berger examines the inextricability of time.

21 June
A Telling Eye: The Work of John Berger (1994)
A programme tracing the career of John Berger through commentary from friends, colleagues and collaborators, directed by Mike Dibb

Friday 10th - UEA EVENT: Poetry Workshop

Join us to create poems in repsnse to the exhibition Looking Beyond with poet and creative writing lecturer, Andrea Holland. Participants will have the chance to perform their poetry for a public audience at our Evening of Poetry and Spoken Word on 17th June. They will also be considered for publication in specially created zines.

Friday 17th - An Evening of Poetry and Spoken Word
Join us for an evening of live poetry inspired by the exhibition Looking Beyond, written and performed by UEA's finest student talent.

Friday 24th - UEA EVENT: Zine-making Workshop

Join us to create mini zines to publish poetry written by UEA students in response to the exhibition Looking Beyond.


Friday 8th - Open Encounters: Panel Discussion with Shaun Camp, John Christie, and Chris Gribble
Experts from art, philosophy and writing discuss how encounters with artworks can open up rich personal engagements, memories and aesthetic connections. Shaun Camp, fine art lecturer at Norwich University of the Arts, John Christie, artist and film-maker, and Chris Gribble, Chief Executive of the Writers’ Centre Norwich, will come together in a panel chaired by Ed Krcma.

Friday 15th - Director's Screening of Ways of Seeing
Join us for a screening of Ways of Seeing, John Berger's seminal BBC series exploring the ways we look at art. Series director Mike Dibb will provide  behind-the-scenes insight into the process of collaborating with Berger. Two hour screening, with an introduction and Q&A session after the film.

Sunday 24th - Looking Beyond Family Workshop
Come along to a free family workshop which will explore how we look at art through playing games, drawing, telling stories and making maps.
